SEMMEA Southeast District Senior Festival
(January 6-7, 2018 Bourne High School, Bourne, MA)
Congratulations to WBHS Band Bass Clarinetist Valerie Hurst on being accepted to the SEMMEA Southeast District Senior Festival Band. As you can see, rehearsals are going well and the day will culminate with a concert with the Southeast District Band. Valerie successfully auditioned in November 2017 to become a member of the band. The music department is very proud of your accomplishment.

Music in the Parks Hershey Park Band Festival
(Friday, April 27-29, 2018)
The HS Band students were asked last year what places they might like to travel to for a music festival.  Taking into account their responses, Mr. LeMarier has planned a trip to the Music in the Parks festival around the Hershey Park area in Pennsylvania. The trip was approved by the WB School Committee and students received all relevant paperwork with a proposed itinerary and deposit due information. Please see the link below to see the paperwork that should have gone home.

Here is the 1st letter outlining the cost of the trip, deposits due, and other need-to-know information for parents and students:

Here is the proposed itinerary for the trip (please note that the itinerary is subject to change):

Here is the information on the optional trip insurance:Optional Insurance Info Sheet

If there is not enough interest shown/instrumentation for the trip (as shown by turining in the 1st deposit by the due date) the trip will be cancelled and 1st deposits will be returned. If there are any problems, please email or call Mr. LeMarier at the high school (elemarier@wbridgewater.com)

Senior and Junior SEMSBA Auditions (Saturday, February 3rd Hanover High School)
The students who will be auditioning at Junior and Senior SEMSBA should know that auditions will take place on Saturday, February 3rd at Hanover HS (287 Cedar St, Hanover, MA). Students should have already seen Mr. LeMarier for music (or bought the music if Mr. L did not have it) and should already have rehearsed the music thoroughly to be ready to audition.

You need to let Mr. LeMarier know by January 8th if you are doing SEMSBA.

If you are an Honors band student, you are required to audition. There is an audition fee of $15 for SEMSBA auditions and it must be paid before auditions take place (checks or cash). All checks should be made payable to WBMSHS and will be deposited in the student music account before going to SEMSBA auditions. Checks or cash are due by January 8, 2018. It is important to receive the fees by this date or else students will not be registered for auditions. If there are any problems, please email or call Mr. LeMarier at the high school (elemarier@wbridgewater.com)

Pep Band Boys/Girls Basketball Game Performances
The HS and MS Band will be performing at 2 home basketball games this year. Every student is expected to attend unless they have a letter or email that has been received from the student’s parent(s) or guardian(s) delivered to Mr. LeMarier by Monday, January 5th.

Students are to wear school colors (maroon, black, white) just like they did for the football games this year.

The following games will be the ones that students will be performing at in the high school gymnasium. We will meet in the band room to prepare at the respective report times.

Honors Band Requirements
The Honors Band requirements were passed out at the beginning of the school year. All Honors Band students were told to go over these requirements and contact me if there were any problems. I have posted them here for all to be informed. If requirements are not followed, students will be graded as such.

Please click here to see the Honors Band Requirements letter that was passed out in class with the expectations of being an honors student in band.

Pep Rally, Friday, October 27
All Color Guard and MS/HS Band students did an excellent job performing at the pep rally. You can see from the video below that it was an event where the band was encouraged and supported by the school audience in attendance.

Band/Chorus/Color Guard Music Events 2017-2018
The HS Band, MS Band, and Chorus will be doing performances throughout the year. You can download a list of planned performances HERE. They were passed out to all band members during the first class. We are requiring all band and chorus students to attend these performances unless a letter is received from a parent/guardion by the stated notification deadline to the event that includes a reason for not being at a performance. It is important that students make every attempt to be at these events. Please contact Mr. LeMarier or Mrs. Diman if there are any concerns. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to stake our claim in the culture of WBMSHS.
